Highlight: Localised formats for more diverse audiences

Several of ARTE's regular signature culture formats like Karambolage, Gymnastics or Tracks open up to authors and/ or protagonists from the new target countries, bringing in more local perspectives from Spain, Italy or Poland.

Highlight: Concerts and festivals across the continent

Steady efforts to cover concerts and festivals outside France and Germany continued in 2024 with several stops in the new target countries.

Highlight: Covering important anniversaries and electoral dates for Europe

2024 was a milestone year for the old continent, marked by major events—from the 20th anniversary of the EU’s enlargement in May to the European Elections and the 50th anniversary of Portugal’s Carnation Revolution.

Highlight: Reflecting generative AI

As a European public service cultural platform, ARTE is keenly aware of the challenges, opportunities, and risks that artificial intelligence (AI) tools present for the creation, distribution, and analysis of journalistic content. These principles were outlined in a new AI charter and are reflected in various ways throughout the catalogue.
